The Sleep Disorders Institute’s Pediatric Clinic specializes in the diagnoses and treatment of children suffering from disorders of sleep and wakefulness. These conditions may occur independently of any other medical conditions. However, they also may occur in association with disorders that affect children, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or depression. The prevalence of pediatric sleep apnea, a condition related to obesity, has increased within recent years as the weight of children in virtually all age groups has exceeded previous levels.
