Dr Anita Bhola is a dedicated sleep specialist practicing in New York. She is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine.

A native of New Delhi, India, Bhola graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of New Delhi. In 1985. She relocated to New York, where she completed an internal medical residency program at NYU-Downtown Hospital, followed by a pulmonary medicine fellowship at NYU/Bellevue/VA Medical Center and a critical care fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center.

She initially worked as an intensivist at the St. Barnabas Hospital (Bronx) ICU and was on faculty at the critical care medicine division of Montefiore Medical Center, where she served as medical director of respiratory therapy at the Weiler campus. She held an academic appointment as assistant professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr Bhola’s subsequent professional experience includes a clinical fellowship in sleep medicine from New York’s Clinilabs Sleep Disorders Institute and clinical directorship of the Clinical Sleep Lab at Lexington Medical Services Sleep Center in Manhattan. She currently serves as medical director of the Sleep Centers at St. Luke’s Cornwall hospital and Montefiore Nyack hospital in New York. Her practice includes both consultations with patients suffering from sleep disorders and interpretation of sleep studies. She has written articles, delivered podcasts and lectured extensively on many topics in Sleep Medicine at professional symposiums and to patients in community settings. She launched the Mid-Hudson Valley chapter of the Sleep Medicine program A.W.A.K.E, a sleep apnea patient support group. She is an esteemed Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and American Academy of Sleep Medicine (FAASM). Dr Bhola has been nominated Castel Connelly Top Doctor for the past 4 years, since 2015.
